Description Vesicular stomatitis (VS) is a vesicular disease of horses, cattle and pigs caused by vesiculoviruses of the family Rhabdoviridae. This disease is clinically indistinguishable from foot and mouth disease (FMD), vesicular exanthema of swine (VES), or swine vesicular disease (SVD) when horses are not involved. Sheep, goats and many other wild species can be infected. Humans are also susceptible.
