This update contains information on the latest disease situation in Europe, alongside information for livestock owners and advice for travellers regarding FMD.

• There have been 11 outbreaks of FMD across both Hungary (5) and Slovakia (6) to date.
• The Hungarian authorities reported a 5^th outbreak of FMD on 17^th April 2025.
• Germany has regained disease freedom from Foot and mouth disease from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), following the outbreak reported on 10^th January 2025.

DAFM wishes to inform all stakeholders of the importance of vigilance in relation to unexplained disease syndromes and the requirement to report any suspicion of an exotic disease to the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine.
