Please find above update number 1 of 2025 on the current Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) situation.
- In June 2025, cases of lumpy skin disease were confirmed in Sardinia (Italy), Lombardy (Italy) and in Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes (France).
- Several more outbreaks have been confirmed since then both in Sardinia and Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes.
- Disease control measures have been established in all premises and surrounding areas, as well as in contiguous regions in Switzerland and Northern Italy.
- Emergency vaccination is being implemented in the whole territory of Sardinia (Italy), Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes (France), and Valle D’Aosta (Italy).
- There is a prohibition of movements of bovine animals, germinal products from bovine animals and unprocessed animal by-products from bovine animals other than milk, colostrum, dairy products and colostrum-based products intended for animal feed from establishments located in vaccination zones.
