| Description | RHD is Caused by the related caliciviruses RHD virus (RHDV) and RHD virus 2 (RHDV-2). Exposure can lead to an acute, highly contagious and rapidly fatal disease of member of the Leporidae family, including the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). A similar agent, termed European Brown Hare Syndrome virus (EBHSV), has been described in hares (Lepus species). |
