Description Rift Valley Fever (RVF) is an arthropod borne viral disease characterized by abortion and high mortality rates of new-born animals. Young animals are mostly affected, suffering fever, weakness, gastro-intestinal disease and sudden death. RVF is a zoonotic disease, causing non-fatal flu-like symptoms and liver disease in humans.
